Susan Barbara (Bricker) Scott, 97, formerly of Buckstown, and Winchester, Mass., passed away peacefully in Fairfield, Conn on Dec. 10, 2011. Born May 14, 1914 in Cumberland, Md.. She graduated from Allegheny High School in 1931 and from the Emergency Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. in 1935. Susan married Leslie James (Jim) Scott in Baltimore on Feb. 19, 1938, after which they began their long life together in Winchester and later retired to their lake cottage in Center Ossipee, N.H. She was the last living grandchild of C.W. and Susan (Lambert) Williamson who were Buckstown civic leaders and charter members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Susan was pre-deceased by her parents Orange and Alice Maude (Williamson) Bricker, siblings Mary Katherine (Kate) and Orange (Bus) Bricker, sister-in-law Joan, and husband, Jim. She is survived by: son Richard (Ivylyn) of Edwards, Colo.; son Douglas (Robin) of Gorham, Maine; daughter Janet Brogan (Chris) and grandchildren James, Sebastian and Gillian of Fairfield, Conn, nephews Jim Bricker of Buckstown, Dan Bricker (Dot) of Russell Springs Ky., and niece Alice Justice of Selinsgrove. Prior to her retirement, she was a public health nurse with the Winchester Public Schools and in Center Ossipee. Throughout life, one of her greatest joys was returning to visit family at the Williamson “homestead” in Buckstown. Susan loved her Pennsylvania ancestral history which dated back to the 1700s. Friends are invited to attend her interment at Buckstown Cemetery, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31.
