James Alfred Williamson, 78, of Friedens

James Alfred Williamson, 78, of Friedens, died Dec. 23, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Jan. 21, 1934 in Somerset County, the son of Clarence Alfred and Mary Margaret (Day) Williamson. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, the former Mary Etta Trent to whom he was married 55 years; daughters: Judy Ann Williamson, Janet Williamson, Mary Ann Bell and husband Douglas, all of Friedens; grandson, Douglas James Bell; sisters, Mary Ellen Weyand and husband Charles of Friedens; Alice Odell and husband Charles of Maryland. James is a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Berkey's ESSO, Svonavec Coal and lastly for PBS Coal where he retired. He was also a member of FOE Aerie 801. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.
