Frances J. Lease, 86, of Friedens, died Jan. 2, 2013, at Siemons Lakeview Manor. Born July 31, 1926, in Somerset, daughter of Alton and Clarisa (McNeil) Weimer. Preceded in death by parents, and husband Elvin. Survived by daughter Carol Ann, Friedens; son Alan R. married to the former Dorothy E. Waxham, Berlin; grandsons: Zachary D. and Jared A. Lease; brother Ross Weimer and wife Marie, Meyersdale; sister-in-law Edith Hoffman, Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. A 1945 graduate of Somerset High School and she worked at Somerset Cannery until it closed. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, and Friedens Fire Co. Auxiliary. She was a former Cub Scout coordinator for several years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Friedens Lutheran Church, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday.
