Violet Maurine Hetrick Hady Hovatter, 94, Salisbury, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale. Born Sept. 29, 1918, in Elk Lick Township, she was the daughter of the late Resley and Florence (Briskey) Tressler. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy A. Hetrick, George Hady, and Fred Hovatter; six brothers: Resley Tressler Jr., Duane Tressler, Jackie Tressler, Bradley Tressler, Marvin Tressler, Abraham Tressler; three sisters: Beulah Maust, Evelyn Doerr, Rita Hollada; four sons: twins, Duane and Blaine Hetrick, Dale Hetrick and Lonnie Hetrick. Mrs. Hovatter was a cook and a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. Surviving are one son, Eugene Hetrick and wife Mary, Warren; one daughter, Holly Hutzell and husband Floyd, Salisbury; two brothers, Donald Tressler, Salisbury, and Mark Tressler, Jarrettsville, Md.; one sister, Marvette Hollada, Salisbury; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury. Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating.
