Catherine Lowrey, 89, passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Genesis Westfield Center in Westfield, N.J. Born in Ireland, she had lived in Meyersdale for many years before moving to Scotch Plains, N.J., in 2008. Catherine was a longtime parishioner of St. Philip and James R.C. Church in Pennsylvania. She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Lowrey, who died in 1981. She is survived by her children: Raymond Lowrey and his wife, Christine; Patrick Lowrey and his wife, Theresa; and Rita Thomas and her husband, Aaron; her three sisters: Mary Philbin, Bridget Schmidt and Agnes Philbin, as well as 10 grandchildren. Visitation at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood, N.J., will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, 1571 Martine Ave., Scotch Plains, N.J.
