Shirley J. Corbin, 73, Berlin, passed on March 17, 2013, at Somerset Hospital. Born May 21, 1939, in West Virginia, she is the daughter of the late Jack and Sara (Brant) Corbin. She is survived by her sister Mary Catherine Paddock of Indianapolis Ind.; brother Charles Corbin of Dunbar; and very special friend June Ackerman, who has been Shirley’s housemate at Ruby Brennan’s home in Berlin for 28 years. She was retired from the Somerset County Workshop after 39 years of service. She attended the Meyersdale and Somerset senior centers, and was an avid collector of Barney and Friends memorabilia. There will be no viewing or visitation at Shirley’s request. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 21, 2013, at the Berlin Alliance Church, pastor Sherman Berkey officiating.
