Roland Duane (Sike) Gomer, 61, Meyersdale, died April 4, 2013, at Martinsburg VA Hospital. Born in Meyersdale, March 24, 1952, to the late George T. and Catherine (Geiger) Gomer. Preceded in death by his brother, George “Bud” Gomer. Survived by his sons: Roland “Duane” Gomer Jr. and his wife, Crista, Bedford, Jordon Baker, Mt. Savage; daughters: Tina Doman and her husband, Matthew, LaVale, Nanette Johnson and her husband, Doug, Wellersburg, Monica Wilson and her fiance, Steve Troutman, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Alec Gomer, Ian Barbour, Gracie Doman, and Felicia Wilson; sisters: Audrey (Les) Beeman, Wellersburg, Bonita Lepley, Wellersburg, and Zona (Sonny) Murphy, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and a very dear and special friend, Bev Resh. Roland is a United States Marine. Sike was known by many as Mountain-man, Big Stick, and Big Daddy. He loved to ride his Harley and loved his Ford Truck. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home in Meyersdale. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Connie Garlick officiating. Interment to follow at the White Oak Cemetery.
