Nez W. Breegle, 78, Rockwood, passed on April 15, 2013, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. Born March 6, 1935, in Hunker, he is the son of the late Daniel and Daisy (Trout) Breegle. Nez is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evanell (Gary) Breegle; children Craig Breegle and wife Tammy (Lease) of Rockwood, Denise Kelly of Rockwood, and Keith Breegle and wife Michelle (McMillen) of Rockwood; grandchildren Jason, Tara, Matthew, Keith Jr., Jeremy, Brianne, and Tyler; great-grandchildren Elijah, Gabe, Madelyn, Carter, Cooper, Isabella, and Davey; and sister Lois Miller and husband Joseph of Berlin. Nez was a retired self-employed truck driver who also owned and operated Breegle’s Boron Gas Station in Rockwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a former mayor of Rockwood Borough. Nez was a member of the Rockwood Alliance Church and loved to hunt, race stock cars, and spend time with his great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rockwood Alliance Church at 438 Harvest Drive. There will be a service at 11 a.m. Friday with one hour of visitation prior to the service, Rev. Patrick Walsh officiating. Interment at Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
