Mabel Gertrude Schmoyer, 101, of East Norriton, formerly of Somerset, died April 28, 2013 at her home. Born Feb. 27, 1912 in Fayette County, daughter of Frank Jacobs Sr. and Bessie (Hall). Preceded in death by parents, husband Elmer Schmoyer who died Aug. 23, 1981, infant son Frederick Philip Schmoyer, brother Frank Jacobs Jr. and sister Irene Nicklow. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Jean Hiltner and husband Sam of Norristown, Richard Staley and wife Ruth of Magnolia, TX. Mabel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and their Sunshine Group, Somerset Garden Club, State Police Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 138, and she had volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Friends received 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home Somerset where services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, with the Rev. Edward Hammett officiating. Interment: Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 918 Tayman Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
