Clyde E. "Jake" Knupp 85, of Jenner Township, died May 11, 2013 at In Touch Hospice House. Born Jan. 9, 1928, in Jenner Township, he is the son of the late Charles and Mary (Maust) Knupp. Also preceded in death by his wife Helen (Kimmel) Knupp; brothers: Roy, Dwight, Paul, George and Elwood; and sisters: Olive Dixon, Marlene Meager and an infant sister. Survived by children: Blaine Knupp of Blairsville; Scott Knupp and fiance Millie Walker of Boswell; the Rev. Douglas Knupp and wife Mary Sharon of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and Joyce Walker and husband Price of Sipesville; grandchildren: Spencer Walker and wife Lindsay (Pugh) of Indiana; Ruth Knupp of Martinsburg, W.Va.; Monica, Blake and Brady Walker of Sipesville; and Sam Knupp of Martinsburg, W.Va. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. He was a retired farmer, self employed carpenter and caretaker and sexton of Casebeer Church and cemetery. He was a 1946 graduate of Somerset High School and served from 1950 to 1952 in the Army as a Sergeant First Class in the Korean Conflict. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, the time of service, in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, the Rev. Denis Doebler officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery.
