Ralph A. Butler, 91, of Fort Hill, passed away May 20, 2013 in Meyersdale Medical Center. He was born Oct. 26, 1921 in Bruceton Mills, W.Va., a son of the late Freeman and Elsie (Platter) Butler. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mammie (Enos), sons, Ralph E. Butler, Confluence, Thomas A. Butler and wife Cheryl, Pittsburgh, Freeman R. Butler, Tarentum; daughters, Elaine Cary and husband, Everett, Fort Hill and Dolores Humbertson and husband, Larry, Frostburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvie, Lehigh Acres, Fla., Glenn and Roy, both of Fort Hill; sisters, Freda Edmonson, Lorain, Ohio, Shirley Beitzel and Dorothy Jean Hutzel, both of Grantsville, Md. He was preceded in death by brothers, Stewart, Charles, Hugh, James and Jack and sisters, Florence Rugg and Leona Butler. Ralph was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Hill and retired from Westinghouse Broadcasting. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Glenn Foster officiating.
