Florence Mae "Flossie" Walker, 88, of Somerset, formerly of Stonycreek Township, died Sept. 6, 2012 at Somerset Hospital. Born July 17, 1924 in Shade Township, she is the daughter of William Henry and Nellie Odilla (Long) Carmany. Preceded in death by parents, an infant son and brothers: Harold, Ray, Clarence, James and Harry Carmany. Survived by her husband of 67 years, Grant C.; daughters, Gwen, married to Claude Duppstadt, Hubert, N.C., and Wendy, married to Rob Stemple, Shanksville; grandchildren: Andrew and Tim Duppstadt, and Nicole, Jill and Ryan Stemple; and sisters-in-law: Myrtle, Betty and Liz Carmany. She was a 1942 graduate of Shade High School. Member of Unity United Church of Christ and former RSVP volunteer. She enjoyed cooking and quilting. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Unity U.C.C. Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
