Nancy Ann (Campbell) Watkins, 79, of Grantsville, Md.

Nancy Ann (Campbell) Watkins, 79, of Grantsville, Md., died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale. Born Oct. 7, 1932, in Midland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Campbell and Stella Mae (Durst) Campbell Layman. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Leander Layman; a step-brother, Willard “Buzz” Layman and a step-sister, Anna Mae (Layman) Bittner. Mrs. Watkins was the Postmaster for the Grantsville Post Office for 32 years after retiring in 1992. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Grantsville BPW, Grantsville Lioness Club and a longtime member of the former St. John’s United Church of Christ. Nancy was a 1949 graduate of Grantsville High School and graduated from Johnstown Cosmetology School. She is survived by her husband, Robert Victor Watkins; four children, Toni Kay (Watkins) O’Donnell and husband, Bill, Grantsville; Mark Robert Watkins, Grantsville; Scott Victor Watkins and partner, Thomas White, Cumberland, Md.; Traci Ann (Watkins) Finzel and fiancée, Mark Minnick, Grantsville; a brother, George Layman, Grantsville; two sisters, Sara Howard, Frostburg, Md.; Judy Morlen, Westernport, Md.; seven grandchildren, Matthew O’Donnell and wife, Tawnya, Michael O’Donnell and wife, Carrie, Katie (O’Donnell) Oscanyan and husband, Nick, Zachary and Hailee Watkins, Ryan and Adam Finzel. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept.  14, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Agnew officiating.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.  Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
