Joseph Frank Fuschino, 91, Fairfax, Va. formerly of Hooversville, died June 9, 2013, at Arden Court Assisted Living. Born July 4, 1921, in Hooversville, a son of Domenico and Mary (Fusina) Fuschino. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Reva Smith; and sisters Carol Taylor and Phyllis Skobel. Survived by his children: Larry and wife Wanda, Huntersville, N.C.; Tracy Comer and husband Sam, Manassas, Va.; and Robert and wife Laura, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; grandchildren: Amy Alt, Scott and Eric Fuschino, Joey, Jacob, and Jenna Comer, and Caroline Fuschino; brother of: Donald Fuschino and wife Lillian, Hooversville; John Fuschino and wife Barb, Windber; Marie Bloom, Hooversville; Virginia Hull, Summerhill; Teresa Petronick and husband Chip, Hooversville; Erma Mayak, Stoystown; Gloria Fuschino, Central City; and Lillian Stevenson, Crofton, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the Army in World War II, achieved the rank of master sergeant, and was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He was a financial analyst in the electronics industry and was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the VFW. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Karl Kolodziejski OFM Conv. officiating. Committal Holy Family Cemetery. Military Honors provided by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
