Elva C. Miller, 83, Somerset, passed on July 16, 2013, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 3, 1930, in Kantner, she is the daughter of the late Jontz and Mary (Barnhart) Croyle. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Josephine Miller, Ada Seese, and Laverne Kovack; and brothers Harry, Clarence, Berton, Vernon, and Bonard Croyle. Elva is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold E. “Bud” Miller; son Keith Miller and wife Michele of Somerset; daughter Kimberly Showman and husband Tom of Rockwood; grandson Joshua Miller of Somerset; and sisters Velma Mae Dunmyer of Stoystown and Ruby Fetzer of Ohio. Elva was a long-time farmer in Jefferson Township and later worked at the visitor’s centers at both Kooser and Laurel Hill State Parks. She was a member of the Somerset Church Of God. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Somerset Church of God, Bishop M.D. Herring officiating. Interment at Somerset County Memorial Park.
