Ralph Bland, 79, of Meyersdale, died Oct. 14, 2012 at home in his sleep surrounded by his family. Born Feb. 1, 1933 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Robert E. and Julia (Lewis) Bland. Preceded in death by his son, Richard; grandson, Matthew; and brothers, Ronald and Robert. Survived by his wife, Betty (Sipple) Bland; children, Michael, Somerset; Linda Smith, Meyersdale; and Kimberli Burnett and husband P.G. "Pokey," Moore, S.C.; stepchildren, Jennifer Sipple, Diane Sipple and Michael Sipple and friend Lisa Smith, and Randy and wife Becky Scott; grandchildren: Connor, Ricky, Chrystal, Ashley, Trevor and Kylie. Also survived by his sister, Betty Jo Miles, Avon, Fla. He was the owner of R&W Pizza, Meyersdale. Member of the Meyersdale Moose #76, Meyersdale VFW, Kennells Mills Sportsmens Club, and Barrellsville Outdoor Club. Ralph enjoyed playing cards with his friends.
