Ray William Laughery, 83, of Rockwood, died Nov. 1, 2012 at Siemons Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset. Born June 26, 1929 in Glencoe, the son of James Herbert and Cecilia Margaret (Tidenberg) Laughery. Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Harold, Kenneth, Wilfred, James and Ralph Laughery. He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Mildred Menser, to whom he was married 32 years; children: Gloria J. Walker and husband Ronald of Rockwood; Donald Laughery married to the former Mary McGowan of Mechanicsburg; Jennifer Bittinger and husband Matthew of Rockwood; grandchildren: Ronald Walker, Matthew Walker, Sharon Laughery, Kevin Laughery and Preston Bittinger. Ray is a 1947 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. He worked until his retirement as a wood turner for Laughery Wood Turning. He was also a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. No viewing or visitation. A private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
