J. Frank Weaver, 93, of Somerset, died Nov. 21, 2012 at his home. Born Sept. 29, 1919 in Somerset County, he is the son of William Harry and Bertha (Peck) Weaver. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Elzora Kathryn Snearly who died Feb. 20, 1984; brother Reid Weaver; brothers-in-law Frank Lavan, Hamilton Pyle and Jack O'Hora; sisters-in-law Pauline Lavan and Blanche Weaver. Survived by sons: Bernard Weaver, married to the former Patricia Ream of Rockwood; James Weaver, married to the former Donnalee Baker of Stoystown; grandchildren; Michael Weaver and wife Lara of Meyersdale; Daniel Weaver and wife Angela of Rockwood; Jamie Weaver of Daulphin; Dean Weaver and wife Stephanie of Sipesville; Jerrold Weaver and wife Karen of Jackson, Fla.; James F. Weaver II and wife Alisha of Holsopple; step-grandchildren: Dennis Jones and wife Erica of Harrisburg; Fannie Kramer and husband Terry of Stoystown; great-grandchildren: Michael, Celia, Christian, Garrett, Andrew, Chloe, Sara, Samantha and Cole; step-great-grandchildren: Terry, Kelly, Brandy, Kenneth, Kia and Olivia; sisters and brother: Dorothy Pyle of Somerset; Jean O'Hora of Kirkland, Ohio; Louise Wolfe and husband Robert of Bedford; Virginia Stutzman and husband William of Elkton, Md.; Harold Weaver of Somerset. James is a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W.II having served in New Guinea and Korea. He worked as a deep miner, then for Somerset Foundry and retired as a potato farmer, and then retired as a coal miner for PBS Coals. He was a member of First Christian Church and Elks Lodge 1951. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and growing and gathering herbs. He was a member of Piney Run Golf Course and had played in a bowling league. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset , where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Samuel Draper and Rev. Scott Ream officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 139 E.
