Joseph Super, 80, Stoystown (Kantner), died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Dec. 15, 2012. Born March 29, 1932, in Clymer, son of Michael and Rose (Krizmanich) Super. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Rose, Dolly, Veronica, Catherine and Barbara; brother, Peter; and an infant brother. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Joanne Berkebile; daughters, Jodell, married to Thomas D. Zimmerman, Stoystown; Bonnie, married to John Mills, Midlothian, Va.; and Sherry, married to Kenneth Walker Jr., Stoystown; grandchildren, Courtney, married to Ryan Weaver; Miranda Zimmerman; Ciara and Barrett Mills; Kristen Walker, and fiance, Jeremy Tarbay; and Lindsay Walker; great-granddaughter, Paige Joanne Weaver; brothers, Steve, Louis, Michael, John, Anthony and Frances; and sisters, Agnes, Mary Ann and Helen. He was a 1949 graduate of Clymer High School and retired from Penelec in 1991. Member of Kantner United Methodist Church; Somerset Lodge 358 F&AM, where he was a past master; and Somerset Oldtimers Baseball, where he was a Hall of Fame inductee. He enjoyed being with family, golfing, gardening, time in his workshop, trips to Myrtle Beach, S.C. and his summer home in Clinton County. No viewing at Joe's request. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kantner United Methodist Church, where a Masonic Service will be held at 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
