Rebecca M. Berkley, 51, Bucks Lane, James Creek, passed away on June 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer at her home. She was born on July 5, 1960, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a daughter of the late Theodore and Nora (Crago) Hurley. On Nov. 2, 1985, in Listie, she married Paul G. Berkley Jr. He survives her with the following family: two daughters, Jade Berkley, James Creek, and April Berkley, James Creek; brothers, Ted Hurley, London, Ohio, and Virgil Hurley, married to Barb, Hamben, Ohio; sisters: Irene, married to Dave Seymore, Londonderry, Ohio, Shirley Hamlin, Chillicothe, Ohio, and Kathy Moore, married to Mark Detty, Chillicothe; two grandsons, Michael Thomas and Westyn Harding. A brother and a sister preceded her in death, Michael Hurley and Julie Penrod. Mrs. Berkley was a member of Beavertown Church of God. She worked at the Broad Top Senior Center, Saxton, and later was a home health aide for Home Nursing until her cancer diagnosis. Her family was her life, she was busy raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed helping others. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor James Lynn officiating. Burial will be held in Grandview Cemetery.
