Harold C. Werner, 81, Meyersdale, died Feb. 1, 2013, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 4, 1931, in Meyersdale, the son of the late Ralph and Hilda (Boyer) Werner. Preceded in death by his brothers: Ellsworth and Gordon Werner; and sister: Maybel Griggs. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane (Berkley) Werner; sons, Dale Werner and wife Mary, Berlin, and Mark Werner and wife Becky, Augusta, W.Va.; grandchildren: Zachary Werner, Zeke Werner and wife Maddie, Monica Werner, Tegen Werner, Denny Werner, Kali Werner, and Kodi Pencyle. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Hay’s Mt. Zion Church United Church of Christ, Meyersdale; Meyersdale VFW Post 3504; Meyersdale American Legion Post 112, where he was the finance officer for 19 years and the commander for two years. He enjoyed taking bus trips and working in his garden. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Tom Sprowls officiating.
