David Eli Tamburino, 64, of Somerset, died Feb. 9, 2013 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 16, 1948 in Pittsburgh, the son of Eli and Helen M. (Slifko) Tamburino. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, the former Joan Diane Mayak, to whom he was married 18 years; stepchildren: Jodi Layton and husband Tim; Lance Kandel and wife Stephanie; stepgrandchildren: Zoe, Finnegan and Kate; sister, Linda Nahay and husband Ronald of Lyndhurst, Va.; nieces and nephew, Valerie Nahay, Lynne Kershner and husband Doug, Ron Nahay Jr. and wife Jaclyn; great-nieces and nephews: Taylor, Samantha, Kari, Jacob, Archimedes and Abigal. David is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Penn State University. He worked at various places as an electrical engineer until his retirement. He was involved in the local nature conservancy. He also volunteered at the Somerset Area Senior Center and Cardio Rehab. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Roger Forry officiating.
