Jennie M. Kuhlman, 98, of Somerset, died Feb. 17, 2013, at The Patriot, Somerset. Born May 3, 1914 in Johnstown, the daughter of John and Anna Miklavich. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold E. Kuhlman, who died Jan. 29, 2003; son-in-law Luis Gonzalez; sisters: Mary Mazza, Alice Helbling, Anna DeArment and Carolyn Rice; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan. She is survived by children, Joan Gonzalez of Johnstown; Harold Kuhlman and wife Elke of Seattle, Wash.; William H. Kuhlman and wife Shirley of Somerset; grandchildren: Dr. Luis Gonzalez III and wife Stephanie of Johnstown; Jo Ellen Flatt of Hartford, Conn.; Ann Gibson and husband Kenneth of Johnstown; Daphane Platter and husband Anthony of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Karen Black of Crafton; Roger Kuhlman and wife Deborah of Ringwood, N.J.; Steven Kuhlman and wife Amy of Sinking Springs; 14 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchild Sergio Gonzalez. Jennie served on Mt. Zion Lutheran Church council and held the office of treasurer for many years. She served on the Somerset school district board and Jefferson Township election board. She was a life member of the Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department ladies auxiliary and worked as a teachers’ aide at Maple Ridge school. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Elisa A.
