Edith Elizabeth (Grundy) Harrison died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the Onalaska Care Center. Edith was born to John and Hazel (Sapp) Grundy on Dec. 14, 1922, near Somerset. She married Robert Lock in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1983. She married Jared Harrison in 1996 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Edith was a gifted artist and talented musician who enjoyed playing the organ and piano. Edith is survived by her son, Daniel (Merideth) Lock; grandchildren, Ann Marie (Joseph) Weber and Dan (Lisa) Lamour; great-grandchildren: Max, Jazmyne and Anastasia Weber, Faith Powell, Alexander and Julia Lamour. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at Olivet Beacon of Light Lutheran Church (French Island). Pastor Luanne Sorenson will officiate and burial of her cremains will be buried at a later date in Walker Cemetery near Shanksville. Edith’s family would like to thank the staff at the Onalaska Care Center for their kindness and compassion that they always showed toward Edith and also to Pastor Luanne Sorenson for her assistance to the family in Edith’s final days. Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Service of La Crosse, Wis., is assisting the family with arrangements.
