Ethelyn V. Wilson, 84, Salisbury, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at WMHS Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, Md. Born Oct. 24, 1928, in Selbysport, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Prema (Fisher) Bowser. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dr. Barry Mitchell; and her brother, Richard Bowser. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of Meyersdale Chapter 548, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as the first Worthy Matron and also as a District Deputy Grand Matron. Ethelyn loved to play bridge and enjoyed painting. Surviving are her husband, Russell C. Wilson; one daughter, Sheri DeHaven and husband G. Donald, Confluence; one sister, Mabel Becket, Russell; four grandchildren: Aimee McLaughlin, Adrienne Mitchell, Luke DeHaven and Laura Nicholson; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Jack Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Somerset County Memorial Park, Somerset.
