Theodore "Ted" Russell Lytle, 64, of Perryopolis

Theodore "Ted" Russell Lytle, 64, of Perryopolis, passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was born in Confluence on Nov. 3,1948, the son of the late Calvin and Jean Dively Lytle. Ted was a very active member of the Gospel Alliance Church. He retired from U.S. Steel after 30 years working as a millwright. Never one to sit still for very long, he worked for the Perryopolis Auto Auction after retirement. He was a proud veteran serving with the United States Marine Corps during two tours of Vietnam and one tour in Desert Storm. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after 22 years service as a gunnery sergeant. He was a Untied States Marine Corps Reservist stationed at Connellsville Airport. He was an avid golfer, playing in the Jefferson Estates Golf League, a past member of the Cactus Golf League and the Moose Golf League. He was an officer in the Moose 092 in Perryopolis, a member of the Marine Corps League of Connellsville, and the VFW Post 7250 of Confluence. He was a gentle, kind and generous man, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 42-1/2 years, Donna K. Peck; a son, Russell Scott Lytle; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Pravlik and husband, Charles; a beloved grandson, Charles Russell Pravlik; the following brothers and sisters: Mary Jean "MJ" Krajacic and husband, Darwin; Lois Meteney; William Lytle and wife, Karen; Donald Lytle and wife, Tammy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Inc., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA, and from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, on Saturday in the Gospel Alliance Church, 1011 Fells Church Road, Belle Vernon, PA. Pastor Brad Sickler officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date.
