Hazel Mae Meyers, 87, of Rockwood, formerly of Somerset, passed on July 22, 2013 at the In Touch Hospice House. Born June 24,1926 in Somerset Twp., she is the daughter of the late Charles D. and Myrtle M. (Stumbaugh) Meyers. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Dewey and Earl Meyers; and sister Margaret Winberry. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Meyers of Somerset and several nieces and nephews. Hazel was a member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren where she served on the Church Board and was president of the Fellowship and Service Commission for 9 years each among various committees served on at the church. She was also a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Hazel was a retired employee of the Bender Shoe Company with 26 years of service. She was a liaison for the local Pennsylvania Chiropractors’ Association Chapter. She was a faithful caregiver and friend for Wilbur and Wilma Miller for many years. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Saturday at the Somerset Church of The Brethren with a service to follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Paul Liepelt and Rev. Roger Forry officiating.
