Alyce Margaret Ober, 94, Hooversville, went to be with the Lord July 28, 2013, at Windber Hospice. Born Jan. 16, 1919, in Quecreek, daughter of Oresta and Margaret (Lasagna) Rosey. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 64 years Allan C. Ober, brothers Ernest, Joseph, Americo, and Sunday Rosey, and granddaughter-in-law Michele. Survived by her daughter Sandra O. Barkley, Hooversville, grandson Christopher O. and great-grandson Max Allan Michael Barkley, both of Davidsville. She was a graduate of Hooversville High School and owned and operated Alyce’s Beauty Salon, Hooversville, for many years. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, and taught Sunday school for many years at the Hooversville Christian Church. She was a charter member of the Hooversville V.F.W. Post 7565 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of Johnstown O.E.S. Chapter 495 for 50 years. Member of Hooversville Historical Society and Senior Citizens. At her request, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private graveside service will be held at Somerset County Memorial Park, Rev. Walter L. Startzel officiating.
