Chester R. Lensbouer, 71, of Somerset

Chester R. Lensbouer, 71, of Somerset, passed on Dec. 18, 2012, at the In Touch Hospice House.  Born June 23, 1941, in Listie, he is the son of the late Chester M. and Katherine (McKnight) Lensbouer. He is also preceded in death by his brother Ralph Lensbouer. Chester is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra (Lepley) Lensbouer; sons Ronald and wife Michelle (Hottle) of Friedens, James and wife Margie (Lewis) of La Vale, Md., Daniel of Somerset, and Jeremy and wife Brianna (Kallman) of Somerset; grandchildren Jacob, Tyler, McKinley, Kaitlyn and Emily Lensbouer; sisters Patricia Rood and husband the Rev. Bryan Rood of Anderson, S.C., and Connie Motil of North Carolina; brother Irvin Lensbouer and wife Johnna (Ferre) of Somerset; sister-in-law Linda Lensbouer; special sister-in-law and caregiver Deborah Merdian of Somerset; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Chester was a graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He and his best friend Gerald Santillo were active in fundraising for the Vietnam War Veterans’ Chapter 587 in Somerset. He was a former Somerset Borough policeman and a retired employee of the Somerset Foundry. He attended Laurel Hill Tabernacle and loved hunting and fishing. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Somerset, where a service will be held at 11a.m. Friday, pastor Ronzil Jarvis officiating.
