James Allen Bittinger, 43, Boynton, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born April 24, 1970, in Meyersdale, he is the son of the late Bernard Lee and Amanda Shirleen (Wilt) Bittinger. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry DeWayne Wilt. James was a construction worker and mechanic and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Meyersdale. He is survived by his wife, Marie Diane (Pritts) Bittinger; two daughters, Kayla Livengood and husband Joshua, Salisbury, and Jessica Bittinger, Lancaster; three stepdaughters: Pearl Sanner and husband Elmer, Friedens, Wendy Failinger and husband John, and Kimberly Pensyl, all of Meyersdale; one stepson, Cledith “Tee” Polson and wife Holly, Flintstone, Md.; one brother, Joseph Bittinger, Woodstock, Va.; three sisters: Debra Failinger and Susan Bittinger, both of Meyersdale, and Bernadine Frederick, Grantsville, Md.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury. Service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
