Richard C. Ferguson, 71, Somerset, passed on May 3, 2013, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 14, 1941, in Bedford, he is the son of the late Cloyd and Alice (Snyder) Ferguson. Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Jean (Shippey) Ferguson; children: Thomas Ferguson and wife Jody, Berlin, Patricia Everett and husband Jeffrey, Jerome, and Deborah Shriner and husband Joseph, Clarksville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother Larry Ferguson, Shellsburg; and sisters Kathy Stockenus, Mann’s Choice and Jo Ann Cross, Meyersdale. Richard was a longtime employee of Somerset Barn Equipment. He was a member of the Glades Tractor Club, and a member of the 8th Society of Farm Women, a group which includes both men and women in Somerset County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to attend auctions and spend time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Somerset, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Jay Shaffer officiating.
