Raymond and Sylva (Kendall) Mankamyer. Also preceded in death by his siblings Fred and Nancy. Survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Joan Walker; four daughters: Rhonda Beckner and husband Rex, Somerset; Linda Conn and husband Ken, Wilmington, N.C.; Jackie Baer and husband Doug, Meyersdale; and Beth Hoover and husband Jeff, Meyersdale; "Pap" to nine grandchildren: Chris (Katie) Beckner, Matt Beckner and special friend Amanda Harmon, Kate (Bryon) Clark, Sheila (Brett) Kozlowski, Ryan "Buck" Conn, Emily (Charlie) Teets, Shawn Baer, Justin Hoover, and Ty Hoover; "Pappy" to four great-granddaughters: Karly Onoff, Kiera and Maeve Beckner and Lilly Teets. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas during the Korean War. He was formerly employed by Wilson Hay, Berlin Lumber, Gasline Construction, H.G. Bender of Meyersdale for 13 years, and Meyersdale Area School District for 20 years as a maintenance supervisor. Don was the owner/operator of Don's Auto Wash for 17 years, where he built and serviced car washes for 5 years. He was a member and deacon of Beachdale Church of the Brethren where he also served in many other capacities over the years. Also a member of the Meyersdale American Legion, Masonic Lodge #554 Meyersdale, and honorary Somerset County Fair Director. Former member of Meyersdale Lions Club. Don especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and had a true love for the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, gardening, raising wildlife, farming and working with machinery. Kenneth Ray Resh, 85, Salisbury, died Nov. 10, 2012, at Goodwill Mennonite Home. Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Accident, Md., a son of the late Thomas and Cora (Schroyer) Resh. Preceded in death by brothers: Robert Clayton Resh, Elra Galen Resh and Cecil Eugene Resh. Survived by his wife Joan (Butler) Resh whom he was married to for 65 years; sons: Gary and his wife, Debbie, Randy and his wife, Carol, and Jay Resh, all of Granstville, Md.; daughters, Sherry and her husband, John Robertson, Annapolis, Md., and Beverly Resh, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Natalie (Dave) Carr, Nanette (Doug) Johnson, Angie (Gary) Hay, Monica Wilson and her fiance Steve Troutman, Jamie (Jamey) Kamp, Erin (David) Rounds, Nathan Resh, Joshua (Samantha) Resh, Jackie Daniels, Joel Resh, Jared and his fiancee Jen Filsinger, and Courtney (Aaron) Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Bobby, Tad and Jon Hay, Felicia Wilson, Josie Kamp and Carolyn Daniels; and sister Erma Jean Broadwater. He was a corporal in the 209th Military Police Company in the Army of the United States, serving in World War II. He was a retired heavy equipment operator by trade, but a farmer by heart. He loved sitting on the front porch at the farm and riding his 4-wheeler. “Pap” you made each of us who we are today and we will always cherish our memories and hold you dear within our hearts and until we meet again...
