Nancy was a member of Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, member of the church choir and past secretary of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren; past member of the Greasy Spoons Plus Two. Norman B. Hay, 86, of Black Township, passed on March 27, 2013 at the In Touch Hospice House. Born July 23, 1926 in Black Township, he is the son of the late Guy and Mabel (Romesberg) Hay. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Leona (Johnson) Hay in 2009; son Richard Lee Hay in 2011; step-father Edgar "Bibe" Weimer; brother Melvin "Bud" Hay; and infant brother Clyde Hay. Norman is survived by his sons: Vaughn Hay and wife Yvonne (Lear) of Garrett, and Scott Hay and wife Donna (Miller) of Somerset; grandsons: Matthew Hay and wife Jennifer (Smeak); Jared Hay and fiancee Danielle (Mitchell); and Mitchel Hay; great-grandsons Dylan and Alex Hay; sister Ruby Hay of Rockwood; daughter-in-law Jo Anne (Rector) Hay; and numerous nieces and nephews. Norman was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W.II where he served in the European Theater with the 334th Engineers from 1944-46. Upon his return he worked as a coal miner and, in 1948, started his trucking career hauling chickens for his brother-in-law Emerson Barron. He also worked for Sanner Bros. Sawmill, EMD, and IML. In 1968 he got his own truck as an owner-operator and hauled freight for General Delivery and Interstate Truck Service for 15 years. Upon retirement in 1984, he continued part-time working at Hidden Valley Resort and J&J Truck Bodies until 2004. He enjoyed working on his farm, raising sheep, building fences, and tending his land, as well as reading western novels and most of all, talking and spending time with his friends and family. Norman was a member of the Over The Hill Gang, Trent Rod & Gun Club, VFW Post 554 in Somerset, and attended the New Centerville Church of God. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Rockwood, and also at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday with a service at 1 p.m., pastor Timothy Show officiating. Betty Rosella Foust, 84, of Somerset, took the Lords hand and went to her eternal rest, March 28, 2013. Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Bard Hollow, she is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen (Emerick) Maust. Also preceded in death by her children's' father, Charles Franklin Foust, and these brothers and sisters: Viola Sarabaugh; Leona Hendershot; Woodrow Maust; Geraldine Thomas; Harry Maust; Blanche Holtz; Floyd Maust; and Madeline King. Survived by children; Bonnie Heggland and husband Donald of Warrington, Va.; Gail Saylor and husband Chris of Dunn, N.C.; Christy Rush and husband Eric of Friedens; Betsy May and husband Kent; Cindy Ross and husband J.D.; and Charles Foust, all of Somerset; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Sarah Ann (Weller) Marlowe, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 16, 1929. She is preceded in death by parents Myrtle Mae (Murray) and Foster J. Weller; and husband John Donald Marlowe. She is survived by five daughters; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. They are: Johnnie and husband Roger Smith, Garland, Texas, grandson Stephen Smith and fiancee Whitney Almand, Clarksville, Tenn.; Bonnie and husband Paul Eash Sr., Johnstown, grandson Joshua Eash and wife Alison (Foster), Cambridge, Ohio, great-grandson John, granddaughters, Marlowe Eash, Alexandria, Va., and Sarah Eash, Johnstown, grandsons, Paul Eash Jr. and Aaron Eash, Johnstown; Tammy and husband Charles Desrosiers, Millbury, Mass., grandson Nicholas Mish, Johnstown; Christine and husband the Rev. Paul C. Lundmark, Wilmington, Del., grandsons: Christian, R. Lukas and Gregory Lundmark, Wilmington; Jolene and husband R. Ralph Cunningham, Johnstown, grandson Justin Cunningham and wife Miranda (Donaldson), Johnstown, and granddaughter Alexis (Cunningham) and husband Joshua Capouellez, Johnstown. She is also survived by her loving sister Myrt and husband Paul Custer along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Sarah graduated from Greater Johnstown High School (’47), attended University of Pittsburgh, Cypress Avenue Campus and graduated from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center School of Nursing (’51). Her career included working at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, as a private-duty nurse in multiple hospitals, and she touched many lives from 1970-1995 as an Elks’ Home Service Nurse for United Cerebral Palsy of the Southern Alleghenies serving Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties. She retired in December 1995 after a long, fulfilling career. A lifelong resident of Kernville, she spent many years actively involved in Mothers’ Club at Somerset St. Elementary School including serving as president. She was a charter member of Anna L. Windolph Chapter 495, Order of the Eastern Star, Mother Advisor and Advisory Board member for Johnstown Assembly 42, Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and member and past president of the Elks Auxiliary. She taught Sunday school and Bible school and served on the Altar Guild of First Lutheran Church (Vine Street), and volunteered for UCP and the MS Society. She loved life, cherished her family, and was an avid reader. She was fortunate to be surrounded by a large circle of friends throughout her entire life and treasured each and every one of them. Viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, 1687 Tire Hill Road, Davidsville. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Paul C. Lundmark of Grace Lutheran Church, Hockessin, Del. Preceded in death by son, Ronald James Kephart Jr. and former husband and friend, Ronald Kephart. Survived by parents; husband, Charles "Chuck" Thompson; children, Douglas Kephart, Spanish Fork, Utah; James Kephart and wife, Juleen (Knapp), Indiana; and step-son, Shawn Thompson and wife. Brandy (Pluta), Wilbur; grandchildren: McKenzie Kephart, Brock Kephart, Leah Thompson, Blake Thompson, Candice Hause and Kennedy Hause; also survived by two special Shih-tzu companions, Cocco and Pugsy; and special friends, Rose Keiper and Denise Custer. Sister of Jeffrey Brubaker, South Carolina. A special thank you to Windber Hospice, especially to hospice nurse, Andrea Bowers. Roxanne was very spiritual and had lots of faith in her Savior. She was always smiling and warmed everyone with her smile. She loved all who knew her. She enjoyed her grandchildren, her little dogs and loved her children deeply. Marion Leo Younkin, 61, of Somerset, died March 30, 2013 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, after a fight with cancer, clear to the end of his life. Born Oct. 30, 1951 in Casselman, the son of Earl L. and Wilma Rose (DiGruttolo) Younkin. Preceded in death by parents and sisters Donna Joyce Younkin and Nancy Jo Younkin. Survived by wife, the former Debra Kay Arnold to whom he was married 29 years; sons, Dylan Younkin of Phoenixville and Bryce Younkin of Youngwood; brothers, Robert Younkin and wife Sandy of Casselman and twin brother Martin Younkin of Berlin. Marion loved his kids as much as life itself. He is a graduate of Rockwood High School. He worked for the last 40 years as a warehouse clerk for CVS Distribution Center. He is a former member of the Somerset Volunteer Fire Department, Scuba Team and EMT. He was a soccer referee and coach for Somerset School District and AYSO and PA West. He was also a member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ. Survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Joan Baker. Brother of: Neil, Calif.; Lynn and wife Pat, Fla.; and Deanna Blazevich and husband Matt, Md.; and nephews Mike, Mark, and Joe Yoder. He was a Nationwide Insurance agent for many years. Member of Meyersdale Church of the Brethren where he sang in the men's chorus, Masonic Lodge #554 F & A.M., Meyersdale, and the Jaffa Shrine.
